Altenup · Chirbirey
Privacy Notice
Effective date: 20 October 2026
1. Who is responsible
This notice applies to chirbirey.com and the Chirbirey service. Altenup provides Chirbirey and acts as the data controller for account administration, service operations and support data described here. Contact us at support@chirbirey.com for privacy questions or requests. When a business uses Chirbirey to handle its customers’ information, that business determines the purposes of that processing and is responsible for its own privacy notices, permissions and lawful use; Altenup processes that content to provide the service on its behalf.
2. Personal data and why we use it
- Account and workspace information: name, email, login and authentication information, business name, phone number and team membership. We use this to create accounts, manage access and provide your workspace.
- Customer and business content: customer names and phone numbers, conversations, order and payment records, catalog information, voice notes, photos, PDFs and social content you provide. We use this to answer messages, manage orders, generate content and provide features you select.
- Connected accounts: WhatsApp and Instagram account identifiers, permissions and connection credentials. We use these to connect the accounts you authorize, receive messages and publish content you request.
- Subscription records: selected plan, subscription identifiers, billing status and transaction references. We use these to manage access, billing support and subscription entitlements.
- Support communications: messages and information you send us. We use them to respond and resolve problems.
- Technical and usage information: IP address, device/browser information, service activity and error information. We use this to operate the service, diagnose issues, understand usage and prevent abuse.
Providing account and connection information is necessary for the relevant features to work. Only upload customer information and content you are authorized to share.
3. Legal bases
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on contract performance to provide accounts and requested services; legitimate interests to support users, secure the service, prevent fraud and improve reliability; legal obligations for records and lawful requests; and consent where required for optional processing or communications. You can withdraw consent without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
4. Who receives information
We share information as needed with service providers for hosting, storage, authentication, email delivery, AI processing, analytics and support. Content submitted to AI features is processed by the providers supporting those features. Meta receives information needed for connected WhatsApp and Instagram services, under its own terms and policies.
Razorpay, our payment processor, receives information necessary for subscription management, payments and invoicing, and handles its processing under its own privacy policy. We may also share information with professional legal or accounting advisers and authorities where required by law. Workspace members can access business data according to their role. Do not put unnecessary sensitive personal information in prompts or uploads.
5. Retention
We retain personal data while it is needed to provide your account and requested services, resolve support issues, meet legal obligations, prevent fraud or handle disputes. Retention depends on the type of information and its purpose, rather than one fixed period for every record. When it is no longer needed, we will delete or anonymise it, subject to lawful retention requirements. Contact us to request account closure or deletion; deleting a chat in the app does not necessarily delete separate billing or legally required records.
6. Your privacy rights
Depending on the laws applicable to you, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or a portable copy of your data, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent. Send requests to support@chirbirey.com; we may need to verify your identity and will respond within the period required by applicable law. You may also complain to the appropriate data protection authority. If you are a customer of a business using Chirbirey, contact that business first about your messages and orders.
7. Security and international processing
Altenup is committed to maintaining appropriate technical and organisational measures for the risks involved in handling personal data. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Providers may process information in countries other than yours; where legally required, we will use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
8. Cookies and browser storage
Chirbirey uses essential cookies or browser storage for sign-in, account sessions and workspace preferences. Hosting services may also collect usage information as described above. Where optional analytics or marketing cookies require consent, we will request that consent before using them. You can manage cookies through your browser settings; blocking essential storage may prevent sign-in or other features from working.
9. Updates
We may update this notice as the service or legal requirements change. We will communicate material changes through the service or account email and update the effective date above.
